What To Do When You Get A New Vape Kit!

Getting a new Vape Kit is, let's face it, one of the most exciting things ever when you're a vaper. That moment when the mailman leaves your mailbox, and you speedwalk out there to get your new gear - man, there's nothing quite like it. Here's the problem, if you're like me, you pretty much waste no time in getting that bad boy opened and start using it, and often that means completely forgetting to do a few things before you get started. If you forget to immediately start taking care of your vape when you open it up, there's a chance you could ruin it forever. Nobody wants that. So, in order to help you avoid that horrible situation, we've put together a nice checklist of steps to take before you start using your new Vape Kit! Check it out!

1. Read the manual:

This might seem like the dumbest thing ever, especially if you've watched reviews and tutorials already, but it's actually a really important step. For example, I recently got myself a VooPoo Drag Mini, and if I hadn't read the manual, I wouldn't have realized that the coil installed in the tank already was a 0.6Ω coil. I just about fired that thing up at 55 watts to get it started...and that would have been horrible. Instant-burned coil. Not cool. BUT! I read the manual! It saved me a perfectly great coil.

2. Wash the tank:

Okay, this one also might seem stupid. But, have you ever looked at the condition of a tank once you take it out of the packaging? Like completely pulled the thing apart and gave it a nice look through? This might gross you out, but sometimes there's leftover machine oil and other gunk just hanging out in the tank. Yuck. That's definitely something you'd want to avoid vaping. It's very easily avoided if you simply pull the thing apart and wash it out before use. Super simple, and can save you from a gross first hit.

3. Charge your battery/batteries:

Some devices, like my new VooPoo Drag Mini, have a built-in battery pack. Charge it before you use it. Even if the batteries read out as fully charged or even half-charged, it's still much better for the device's longevity for you to take the time to charge it up completely before you use it for the first time. First of all, it can make a huge difference in the overall life of the kit. Second of all, it gives you time to read the manual!

4. Prime your coils:

If you've been vaping for a while, you know this is an important step. In fact, you probably think of this as THE important step. Good on ya. It's true. Make sure to prime your coils! Start them at a lower wattage, juice them up, the whole works. DO NOT grip it and rip it with your new tank. It's not a good idea. Your vape will suffer, and so will your tastebuds.

5. Collect the materials in a place you can find them:

This one might seem kinda weird, but hear me out. Let's say you get your device, pop it open, follow all of the steps that you need to take, and then you just grab the spare coil and glass and throw the rest away. Then, two days later, the device stops working properly. Now you've got to send it back to the manufacturer, and they're asking you for the authenticity card...but you don't have that, because it's in the garbage. Are you outta luck? Probably. Just hold onto everything. Put it in a drawer in a desk somewhere, or if you've got a bin for your vape stuff, put it in there. There's nothing worse than needing something you put in the trash.

That's it! Follow these 5 steps and you should be good to go with your brand new vape kit! Until next time!
